Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon is an Indian spiritual leader who is the head of the Radha Soami Satsang Beas (RSSB), Punjab. He was appointed as the spiritual head of the RSSB sect in 1990 after the demise of the former spiritual head Maharaj Charan Singh Ji. In 1891, one of the followers of Shiv Dayal Singh Seth (Swami Ji Maharaj) named Baba Jaimal Singh Ji Maharaj established the RSSB sect by the side of the river Beas in the northern state of India Punjab. This sect was named ‘Dera Baba Jaimal Singh.’
The spiritual ideologies of Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon are the same as taught by Swamiji Maharaj and the former gurus of RSSB sect. These ideologies and faith include the inner journey of the soul while sitting and concentrating in meditation under the guidance of the living guru. The experience of the divinity of God in the human body behind closed eyes is considered the true purpose of human life. According to this faith, the Radha Swami word is made of two different words. Radha means ‘Soul’ and Swami means ‘Lord.’ The reunion of wandering souls in this birth-death cycle with its supreme master to attain the divine salvation.
Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon leads the spiritual sect RSSB that is not concerned with any political party in India, and it is regarded as a non-profit organisation that does not take a single penny from its followers. The gurus of the sect also live on their personal income and all the donations are meant to spend on the basic amenities of the followers, devotees, and sewadars of the Dera.
According to Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon, the simple living conditions to be followed by the follower of the RSSB sect are to lead a simple life, earn with honesty, a strict Lacto-vegetarian diet that is free from consumption of drugs, cigarettes, alcohol. It also focuses on not indulging in sex outside legal marriage while following the meditation routine by repeating the five holy names given by the Guru (spiritual master) at the time of initiation.
There are no rituals and ceremonies promoted by the head Guru of the RSSB sect. None of the devotees is forced to leave their religion or cultural identity. The only practice is to be followed is Surat Shabd that includes the chanting of the five holy names while sitting in meditation and concentrating between the two closed eyes. This daily practice ultimately allows a devotee to listen to the inner divine sound or Word (Shabd) within himself. This whole procedure is called Surat Shabd Yoga within Sant Mat.
Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon delivers spiritual discourses at major centres of Radha Swami Satsang Beas in India for the whole year. In the months of July and August, he delivers discourses in foreign countries too. In India, usually on Saturday and Sunday followers are allowed to gather on a pre-fixed time and date schedule to listen to him and have a spiritual look at him (darshan).
In 1990, when Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon was given the charge of the RSSB sect after the demise of Maharaj Charan Singh Ji, Gurinder Singh Dhillon was working in Spain after completing his studies at Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Riding bikes, Rock band ‘Beatles,’ and Canadian singer ‘Paul Anka’ were Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon’s interests when he was studying. His friends gave him a pet name ‘Moga’ during his college days.

In May 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic in India, Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon expressed his views on the corona hit all over the world in a question-answer hour with his followers. He narrated,
I don’t think we need COVID-19 to make us think about it. Whether it’s the cell phones,iPads or computers, they have already destroyed the social fabric of our society.Where do the children sit and talk? Where do the children sit and play? They are moreinterested in their games on iPhones and computers. The art of conversation, the artof letter writing and all that has already started taking a beating. COVID-19 has justbrought it to the fore as what was already taking place.”
